The challenge of golf. One of the things that many
golfer love about the game is the challenge. While golf can be
competitive in many different formats and tournaments, there is a more
fundamental challenge and competition going on. And that is what many
golfers believe is the real challenge of the sport.
Many golfers believe it is the fundamental challenge to
master the golf swing, which is a very complicated thing. And there is
some sense to that. Why else would golfers play a round of 18 holes of
golf, hit only 1 or two good shots out of 85 to 100 total strokes and not be
able to wait to get back to the golf course? But think about it, you
have all heard someone say, or have said yourself, "It only takes that one
or two really sweet golf swings to bring me back."
Add an extra complication in the fact that many of us didn't
learn the game until we were adults. So now we are having to learn a
very complicated athletic movement when our bodies have settled into the
comfort zone of adulthood and learning is a much more difficult thing.
So why would any sane person take up this game that we call
golf? Well, first of all, we never said that golfers were sane.
Second, ti appears that there is no logic to it. I have seen people
that I thought would love golf never develop even a remote interest in the
game. And then I have seen those that I thought would hate it
instantly become addicted instantly. Go figure!
But all of that is what makes golf so fun and so amazing.
