How The Weather Affects Your Golf Game

Real Estate, Weather and Golf

The weather can affect your golf game. This is something my real estate friend always reminds me of. An avid golfer, he often sends out real estate agent marketing letters to friends and family he knows are avid golfers and in the market for a new home. His 4 color postcards even have a picture of a golf ball on them. You can say he is kind of the real estate agent of the golfers.

For anyone interested in golf and real estate, he is the ideal person to chat with. He'll help you find a new home and a golf course that will suit your every need. On that note we were chatting the other day about how dire the weather had been recently.

Not an avid golfer, I'd never considered the relationship between the weather and a golf game. That soon changed however, in the presence of my friend, who spent the next hour and a half telling me all about how influential the weather can be to one's golf game.

Is Good Golf A Matter of Luck or Weather? After chatting with my golf savvy real estate friend I have decided good golf is as much a result of luck and skill as it is the weather. The next time you play golf you might want to think about the weather. Weather conditions affect more than the way you play... they also affect your golf ball. Did you know the trajectory of a golf ball as well as the distance it travels depends in part on how well it can move in the air? Makes sense if you think about it.

And how well the golf ball moves through the air is of course influenced by temperature changes, pressure and other factors... even humidity. In hot and humid weather the ball tends to travel a lot farther than it might in cold and dry weather. This is important and may affect when you play and how well you play in any given environment.

Altitude also affects your game and the way a ball reacts to the weather. For some, predicting the way their game will go is a matter of luck. The next time you grumble about your game however, it may be simply a matter of the weather.
